Description
Interleukin-6 (IL-6) is a pleiotropic, 22-28 kDa cytokine which plays fundamental role in the acute phase response, inflammation, bone metabolism, lymphocyte differentiation and cancer progression. Deregulation of IL-6 production was also found in several diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, Alzheimer’s disease, autoimmune deficiency disease and different types of cancer.
Test Principle
Human IL-6 ELISA kit is used to detect IL-6 in samples by sandwich ELISA method. This assay uses microplate pre-coated with mouse anti-human IL-6 monoclonal antibody to the solid phase. Human IL-6 in the sample conjugates on solid phase and then react with the HRP conjugated mouse anti-human IL-6 monoclonal antibody. Subsequent wash steps will remove residual unbound antibody. After incubation with substrate solution, the reaction is determined by the absorbance at 450 nm. Quantification of nuclease level is accomplished by comparing the absorbance with standard curve.
