  • Background
    • Background

CD19 protein, present on the surface of B cells, acts as a key regulator of B cell development and function. It plays a crucial role in B cell receptor (BCR) signaling, promoting B cell activation, proliferation, and differentiation upon antigen recognition. CD19 also enhances B cell responsiveness to co-stimulatory signals from T cells. Due to its selective expression on B cells and absence on other immune cells, CD19 serves as a valuable target for immunotherapy in B cell malignancies such as B cell lymphomas and leukemias. Understanding CD19 biology is essential for developing targeted therapies for B cell-associated disorders.
