    Clec9a, also known as DNGR-1 (Dendritic Cell Natural Killer lectin Group Receptor-1), is a type II transmembrane protein predominantly expressed on dendritic cells. It serves as a pattern recognition receptor involved in the detection of necrotic cell death. Upon ligand binding, Clec9a triggers dendritic cell activation and antigen presentation, promoting immune responses against pathogens and cancer. Its specificity for necrotic cells distinguishes it from other receptors involved in immune surveillance.
