Immunohistochemistry (IHC) is a technique to identify target proteins or molecules in tissues using labeled antibodies. In healthy rats, despite perfectly functioning renal capabilities, small traces of indoxyl sulfate (IS) can still be found within tissues. However, rats that undergo 5/6 nephrectomy (5/6 Nx) faces reduced renal capabilities, resulting in less effective IS excretion and subsequently higher IS accumulation in tissues.

Using IHC, we have demonstrated that our IS mAbs can effectively recognize and bind to IS antigens regardless of varying IS concentrations and tissue type.
